2. Is there an alternate method for accessing the 520 externally that
would be more secure? They would need to be ports that I can assign
"externally" to bypass the ISA 2004 firewall.

Yes! Get a real firewall and do it all in there. As soon as you use the
words "bypass firewall" you raise a million red flags. :) I assume you
have no credit-card information stored on this 520 as you'd file your
PCI audits if you did this.

Is the System i secure? Sure. Would I ever plug it (or any other
production box) directly onto the 'net? Nope!
