Different size on the same controller is fine. You should not have more
than one step in size difference in the same ASP. You can put 35GB
drives and 146GB drives on the same RAID controller as long as they are
in different ASP's.

Let me clarify:
Mixing disk size in the same ASP will cause the larger drives to have
heaver activity and can cause a performance hit. Having a separate ASP
for such items as IFS storage where you tend to have less activity but
larger data transfers such as image and document storage. (Typical IFS
stream files) It is also a good practice to put your journal receivers
into a separate ASP for data protection. I would not create a separate
ASP for developers as their work loads are generally very database
intensive and can effect performance on the production side of the
controller.

So it is allowed and Ok with the right workload management. But I would
not put different size disk more than one step apart in the same ASP /
controller.

So different size disks on the same disk controller is ok?
