Since you've had some experience with the JS22 maybe you can answer a
question that's be bothering me.
In the announcement webcast the comment was made that the backup tapes
created from a JS22 were a different format from standard System i backup
tapes due to the VIOS connection and could not be restored on anything
other than another JS22. If the tape environments are incompatible then
how do I restore client data onto a JS22? It would seem to me that this
would limit the effectiveness of the JS22 in a multiple server environment
and add some additional cost to DR environments if it's true.
Did I misunderstand what was said or is this a real concern?
