I have a CL program that is executing a command using the
following method
CHGVAR &SHIPITEM) VALUE('10AB56')
?CRTORD ??SHIPITEM(&SHIPITEM)
The command prompts fine with 10AB56 pre-loaded in the SHIP
ITEM parameter
The problem I have is the user has the option to blank out
the value, but whenever they do and press <Enter>
the command re-displays with 10AB56 in the SHIP ITEM
parameter.
I don't want the user to have to enter *NONE or ' '
Is there something in the CMD source code for the parameter
that makes the command accept blanks as a valid value?
PARM KWD(SHIPITEM) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(30)
PROMPT('Ship Item Number')
Thanks in advance for you help
Allen
