OK the FC1827 does some magic and is only about 6 to 8 inches long. If you
have the correct cable for an older AS/400-iSeriesto that UPS then you can
use that with the FC1827. I believe APC also offers a cable specifically
for their UPS(s) to directly ( no FC1827) to an i5.
When using either setup the cable should be attached with the i5 UNPLUGGED
and dead as a door nail for about 5 minute before you attach the cable.
