You may be right I don't know. I really don't find them that hard to use.
Especially for those who've ever used Windows and any web browser.
Granted Linux is different than Windows. Even the simple stuff like
sizing windows, etc.
I think it's really simple. However I am amazed by the people that don't.
Especially the older people in the department who still use PDM and SEU
even though they have a highly capable laptop. I can think of one of them
that has had a tougher time with the HMC.

I could also suggest never having the user use the HMC. Instead, have
them use a remote shared console session to the HMC from their desktop.
The difficulty of that concept to your users is better left up to you.

Even in our machine room I have a desktop. If you sign on as the user
"downtime" it automatically starts up a browser session to the HMC and
fires up several remote shared console sessions (for each lpar). It also
fires up some other Dekko unique stuff, like text documents with the
downtime instructions so they can cut and paste commands when necessary.
The cutting and pasting, and a more ergonomic PC, are the draws. That,
and everyone knows how to resize the windows, etc. However, the old PDM
guy totally loses his mind if there's more than 3 windows open on his PC
at a time.
I could probably automate this some more with some autostart macros on the
shared sessions. However it acts different if a shared session has
already been started - like, whether or not you enter your session
password once or twice.
