Agreed that IBM is a behemoth company that moves slow on change... BUT -
i've not found another large company that is anywhere near as responsive to
customers as they are. Especially through a good businss partner. IBM's
not perfect... but who is? In my experience, at least they understand
'business critical' items and situations and are willing to respond to them
and treat them as such.

I, too, have had PMR's open for YEARS.

I've found that legal helps to get things rolling. Like the time when
Facsimile Support/400 didn't support a transmitter id at the header for
certain types of hardware (like their simple fax/data modem). I had
someone fax them a US law from a law manual that says that is illegal. Boy
did that restriction get lifted fast! One of the few times I was able to
rapidly circumvent "DCR". But, other than that, legal has never been
involved. That just sours a relationship.
