Lukas - you do NOT have to have your own machine - you did not apparently see the options Michael put in there - we are using one of IBM's machines to do this - yes, we are in the States, but it sounds like that is not a problem - the ISV Innovation Centers are there for all partners, apparently.

IBM folks did all the installs of V6R1 - even the latest driver for early ship.

So try option 2 or 3 that Michael listed, please.

Vern

Okay, this is contradictory to the information i've received from my
bosses, but i'm assuming that you know more about that than them :)

But here's a big question:

Why does this not work easier?

If you want to test WS2008, you just click on this link:

(very long, sorry)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/info.aspx?na=90&p=&SrcDisplayLang=en&SrcCategoryId=&SrcFamilyId=8f22f69e-d1af-49f0-8236-2b742b354919&u=http%3a%2f%2fdownload.microsoft.com%2fdownload%2f1%2f5%2f7%2f157cc83e-9fa8-45b6-939b-dab2e82b7221%2f6001.17119.071210-1916_amd64fre_Server_en-us-KR1SXFRE_EN_DVD.iso

If you went to test V6R1, you have to jump through hoops, send mails,
wait for physical media, try to organize an old machine capable of
running V6R1 very slowly, etc.
