At least IBM's better than Microsloth, which has a long-established
habit of intentionally and maliciously treating third-party software
vendors like mushrooms (i.e., keeping them in the dark and feeding them

a lot of . . . ).

Sure, there are lots of stories like "the job's not done 'til lotus
won't run", but in reality any 3rd party developer that cares can
download beta and RC copies of new OSs _long_ before they go GA. Long
is, in many cases, a year or more. So I'm not sure how "in the dark" MS
is trying to keep them.

Now, there are many 3rd parties who don't bother to do so, and then
complain that they didn't have the time needed to adjust to the new
version, but whose fault is that? MS's or the lazy 3rd party?
