I have two HMCs, both at 7.3.1.0 with: MH01015, MH01030, HM01041
I'd like to upgrade them to 7.3.2. Some of the steps I always do prior to
the upgrade are:
- Save Upgrade Data
- Format Media
- Back up HMC Data
- continue on...
However the "Back up HMC Data", on both HMCs dies with HSCP0003 The
Backup Critical Data request failed.
Only hit I am finding is:

Tried calling IBM software support. But I am getting the usual runaround
about entitlement whenever I call in about my HMCs lately. I wonder if I
open this as a hardware issue (which apparently I am entitled to) if I'd
get any better results?
