DSPLOG is good for most things, probably. I've had need for the extra stuff in messages like CPF1124 & CPF1164 - the job completion message - that never show up in the output of DSPLOG. One can use various ways to merge the mutliple-row messages that make up QHST* files, and maybe TAATOOLS does some of that.

I recommend the OP look at the documentation on QHST in either or both CL Programming (see http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/systems/scope/i5os/topic/rbam6/systl.htm?tocNode=int_223291 in V6R1 InfoCenter) or Work Management (see http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/systems/scope/i5os/topic/rzaks/rzaksqhistlog.htm?tocNode=int_226134)

What is special about that tool? Tough to know how to respond, w/out
knowing what a utility must provide to be comparable.
What about [effectively, for the day]?:
DSPLOG QHST PERIOD((*AVAIL *CURRENT)) OUTPUT(*PRTSECLVL)
