What legal issues might that be? Was it was possible to upgrade an 8xx
box to a 5xx box, and keep the same serial number? To me, In summary, how
does one define "box"? Physically, they looked different as can be to me.

I think most vendors key on a couple of different factors - serial number
is only one. So, when I upgrade from a 570 to a MMA shortly, that should
be a hoot.
