RE: Staying current on releases? (was: Are there any System i siteson the Internet that offer accounts?)

Upgrading some of our LPARs is easy enough but for others it gets
complicated. The tool set for our main ERP needs to be upgraded to work
at V5R4 (we're on V5R3). To upgrade the tool set we need to do a code
review of all ERP customizations, literally hundreds of programs, to
make sure they will work at the new level. Once that is done we can
upgrade the tool set and then upgrade the OS. We anticipate this taking
6-9 months, so we'll likely bypass V5R4 in favor of V6R1.
