I was playing around a bit and decided I wanted to see what those
instructions would look like if they were surrounded with a pretty
border. I would like to write a window and then immediately exfmt a
full screen. I used the overlay keyword. The window does not display.
I couldn't even get the window to display as an additional window when I
used SDA to see if I could figure it out.

Am I having a brain flat, or is this really not a possibility?

Do you mean you WRITE the WINDOW-FORMAT then EXFMT the FULL-SCREEN- FORMAT? If so that's not going to work. You might be able to get what you want by:
WRITE FULL-SCREEN
WRITE WINDOW
READ FULL-SCREEN

Otherwise show us a small example (DDS and program code) of what you're trying to do. Possibly specifying USRDSPMGT on the window format may help but need to see the source to know.

Simon Coulter.
