An observation, not an answer.

I believe the quoted URL giving "System i upgrades and conversion availability list" is just a .xls view of _previously published_ upgrade availability [& withdrawal] information. It is unclear to me why so many entries would record 01-Oct-2007 as a "end of offering date" value; perhaps it was an error in generating the data, whereby the update left all of the cells for condition /date has passed/ with the date of the last update.? Regardless, as previously withdrawn, I do not expect there is any "new ruling" with regard to the upgrade.

The noted conversion was withdrawn in "Effective October 1, 2004" according to a search of Announcement letters at either http://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/index.wss or the advanced search at http://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/index.wss?buttonpressed=NAV002PT090 searching on...
