What you say makes a lot of sense. I help out at a LUG and getting butts
in seats there is always a trick and you just don't get the attendance you
used to.
Leaving early to avoid traffic. I think that is an issue. That's a
pro/con for west coast conferences. The fact that very few, to none,
afternoon flights are available back to east coast homes. Pro: People
actually stay for the afternoon sessions and just leave the last day. Or,
Con, they blow off the whole last day. It's nice to have some good topics
on the last day to encourage you to stay. But I bet the speakers look at
it like being the TV advertiser who
- got the 3:17am time for their commercial
- during the middle of an informercial
Last time we really hashed this David suggested we move it off the
Technical list and over to CPF0000 so this will be my last comment.
I did submit some web feedback at the education web site to encourage some
posting of the IBM Technical Conferences. I guess that would be
"productive" action, eh?
