I loved Indianapolis, and San Antonio. Anaheim is just way to far.
Atlanta was OK.

Don't ever think COMMON doesn't go the amenities route. Why do you think
they don't go to places like Kansas City or Cincinnati anymore?

When I brought this up way back when, COMMON trotted out some attendee
survey results that supported their decisions to go to the fancy schmancy
places like Orlando, San Diego, Nashville, et al.

Frankly, I enjoyed Indianapolis as a venue. Baltimore was nice, too. If
they
ask me (and they never will), COMMON should rotate through 3 towns:
Anaheim,
San Antonio, and Atlanta. Easy to get to, and the weather is never much of
an issue.

Jerry,

Typically the venue's other than COMMON or IBM tech conferences pick their
location with amenities in mind. I suppose in an effort to get enrollment
fees from those who want an all expense paid vacation and who may never
attend the conference. Some of these are so far out that my boss simply
calls them "compucruises" and quickly discards their flyers.

I guess one of the things that will be interesting is the "size" of each
portion.

And by "size" I mean two things:

* The number of IBM presentations and other stuff (expo, etc.) for
each system, and
* The number of people attending/patronizing each system.

Not being able to personally attend too many seminars, etc., outside of
COMMON and the LUG, I'm holding out for the System i Developer thingie
this Fall - if they choose to have it some place warm (wink, wink,
nudge, nudge). But, then, they'll probably use that as an excuse/reason
to hold it in Fairbanks. .-)

IBM POWER Systems Technical Conference featuring i5/OS (formerly

Date/Location - TBD

My understanding is that there will be a single conference this year
- not two as in the past - and that it will be a combined Power
conference -i.e. System i and System p.
