I'd be (more than) a little concerned about this.

When you say GRTOBJAUT OBJ(PWRDWNSYS) OBJTYP(*CMD) USER(SOMEGUY) AUT(*USE).

The authority is stored with the user profile, saved via SAVSECDTA, and restored via RSTAUT.

Assuming you followed the proper migration path, SOMEGUY should still have authority to PWRDWNSYS.

Well, that pretty well covers the whole thing. You are right about the
guy having
prior authority in a earlier machine, but since this was a brand new
non-migrated
525, those authorities apparently did not come forward.
