Granted, with one of the main goals of
V6R1 to be the killer of FAST/400 (and that genre) the odds are high that
WRKDBF probably now uses some techniques that V6R1 would slay and it would
take some serious rewrites of WRKDBF, even if they did give out the
source.

I'm not so sure of that, Rob. Bill's code was pretty straightforward (in
fact, I read recently a lot was generated). About the only thing that might
cause problems is the undelete, which originally used the old UNDEL code
which indeed did some magic under the covers, but I think someone has
created a V6R1 compatible UNDEL that might work in its place. Either that,
or just remove the UNDEL capability entirely; I can't tell you the last time
I used undelete, but I use the other features of WRKDBF all the time.
