programmers
have to produce or they are quickly replaced. employees are not so easily
replaced.
True enough but there are a LOT of contract programmers available without
having to look in Moscow, Prague, Monterrey Mexico, etc. etc.
My last employer bought a software company that was prevalent in Europe so
we didn't think too much about it when they set up the development center
in Moscow. We didn't share the same lack of concern when we started porting
a domestic product to .Net and the employer found they could hire 3 coding
monkeys in Mexico for the same price as moving one of us into the new
product.
