I've got no experience with this type of software, but what happens when you
tell HR that they'll be adding one, if not more people to the payroll to
maintain the "lower cost system"?

One of my clients decided to switch to Oracle a little more than 8 years and
$16 million, in part because HR was enamored with being able to use a mouse.
They needed to add two people to the IT department just to support that part
of the Oracle software.

The Oracle project has been abandoned, the client is sticking with the
System i, and the HR function is going to be handled by ADP, starting
tomorrow. Since I had already written some interfaces to ADP previously, it
cost them about 2 days of my time to tweak the new interface.

Our HR/Payroll Department is considering moving from our current System
i Software Vendor to a more Employee Self Service/Web Enabled Product.
Our current System i Vendor offers the Employee Self Service/Web Enabled
Product but at a much Larger Cost. HR/Payroll would rather switch than
pay this cost. Does anyone have any suggestions on a lower cost
HR/Payroll Application on the System i with the Employee Self
Service/Web Enabled features? Other wise it's another application loss
off of our System i and this does not bode well for me; the System i
Administrator/Application Guy.

TIA.
