My experience of data recovery centres is that they would be too costly for
a what should be considered a relatively simple piece of confirmation -
thanks anyway, though.

I think you would have to assume the customer is going to resell the disks,
more likely as part of a hardware upgrade or system replacement. In this
situation, where the customer has gone to the trouble of buying the product,
he/she should expect some assurance. Maybe the warranty would be enough but
I can imagine some financial institutions out there that would need more
confidence in the procedure.

Maybe there isn't a way of doing this but I'm interested to know people's
views.
