On the 520 rack mount, the UPS port is the bottom left one, when viewing the
machine from the back.

I got a cable with the UPS.. it's a tripp lite. Can I just use that cable?
Not sure what pigtail your referring to.

Also, not sure which port you're referring to. In the top left corner there
are 2, and there some others below the power port.

With the Box unplugged for about 5 minutes... Plug the short
pigtail cable
in to the 9 pin serial port closest power plug. Plug the UPS cable into
that pigtail. Plug in the system and you should be set.

Got my i5! UPS connection question







my 515 just showed up today. Boy, I feel like a kid in a candy store. :)

Question on connecting the UPS.. does IBM have instructions anywhere for
this? I found some for the 520, but not sure if that would suffice.

Basically wondering where the cable plugs into and the steps needed to get
thing going.
