As a starting point I run GO CMDREF into an *OUTFILE then query to find out which programs do what to any given file, but it does not tell me at the field level. For that I have to go to the source code.

I do not know if embedded SQL/400 goes into this thing.

Also, BPCS uses a lot of soft coding, where the names of things are specified at execution time. BPCS does have an XREF function, but you have to disable security for it to work & I don't want it that bad.

That's why GO CMDREF is only a starting point.

Over which file can I query to find which programs use a specific field?

TIA,
Don
