Hi Kevin

I think the first question you need to ask yourself is "Is there anything on
there I need ?". Sounds a little like there is nothing critical on the box -
especially since you haven't said there is - so the shortest path to
getting things going might be just to forget about trying to get it going
and just build it again. You shouldn't have any shortage of forced labour...

Off the cuff my approach would be:
- take an inventory of the available parts/cards/disks
- plug them into the system planning tool to get a working configuration
- plan any additional LPARs using the system planning tool
- IPL from CD and install i5/os and my entitled software

Since you are using a HMC if you use the system planning tool you can export
the plan to the HMC which will make the LPAR configuration somewhat painless
for you.

Hope this helps at least a bit.

Regards
Evan Harris

I was able to get the code that the system has come to rest on. I attempted
to look it up on the links provided and came up empty handed. The code is
B700 5122. I also took some of your advise and proceeded to tar and feather
all of those involded with my dilemma. Any help on this new error code
would be appreciated. I'm going to try and restore the system from whatever
backup tape I can find, if any, tonight. Thanks again!

Kevin
