It's not SNDDST, but just this week I have been working with the
javamail API from Sun.

I am not much of a Java programmer but with a little help from java400-l
and a little time, I was able
to send a plain text email with an attachment, independently of setting
up any config entries on the System i. I am pretty sure this javamail
stuff could do authentication with a little more code, although I did
not need it for my application.

Just something you might investigate given that you don't want to buy a
solution.

We are emailing from our System i (using SNDDST and
QtmmSendMail)

Our ISP is now requiring authentication when we send email.

The last I knew the System i could not authenticate when sending eMail.

Now that more and more ISP's are requiring authentication I am hoping
that there is a solution for me.

Can anyone offer a way for me to use SNDDST and QtmmSendMail and
authentic

Sorry, we are NOT interested in any 3rd party software solutions
