I personally prefer email because I can get all my participation in one
spot. That is, I don't have to physically visit 4 or 5 different web
forums several times a day in order to keep up. The availability of RSS
to let me read blogs has helped some.
One annoying thing that has got worse in the past few years on other web
forums (not iSociety!) is the level of rudeness. In an email list, it's
quite simple to filter a rude Buck into the Deleted bin. On a web
forum, it's harder although Greasemonkey can sometimes help :-)
