Doug...the reason that happens is we have both technical folks and
marketing folks on the same list. Even though this is the Midrange
Systems Technical Discussion, there are non-techies that participate.
There *is* CPF0000, but that always seems...silly to me, so I
unsubscribe after a few days every time I try it. You *still* get the
best (IMO) answers from this list - you just have to pick the pearls
from the oysters sometimes.

I have to say that I have picked up a lot of extremely useful information
from numerous sources on here; from the always helpful Scott Klement to
Bob Cozzi to so many others that I would be foolish to start naming names
because someone is going to be left off the list.......ooops, I already
started naming names....do forgive me :)

I do have to say though, that these petty fights over the names, takes
away from the learning and informational aspect of this list.....I cannot
count the number of times that I have come close to unsubscribing from the
list because I hate being inundated with messages arguing over the same
things.

I am ** NOT ** choosing sides here, frankly you can call it a system I, an
iSeries, an As/400, hell you can call it "the big black box" for all I
care......what is important to me is what can the box do for me, what
services and features does it offer and how can that best help me perform
the functions I need it to perform.

It is an argument in futility.....and takes away from the value of the
list.
