wrksysval QINACTITV
on the command line and press Enter

On the work with system values screen
type 5 in the option to display the contents of that system value
Press F12 twice
then repeat the process for
wrksysval QINACTMSGQ

Get down into the folder containing your saved iSeries Access for
Windows
device sessions. In my case, it's here: C:\Program Files\IBM\Client
Access\Emulator\Private

Right click on the device session and open it with Notepad. Here's the
statement I have right under the Telnet 5250 statement:

[Telnet5250]
KeepAlive=Y

I have VRM3 with the latest service pack, running in XP with sp2.
