Please understand that by invoking "division by zero" as a comparable
absurdity, I meant "absurdity" in the mathematical/logical sense of
something that is not only undefined, but undefinable.
Updating the underlying data of a join-logical, by contrast, is quite
meaningful, but needs to be defined on a case-by-case basis, hence the
"instead of" trigger, and various other workarounds that allow one to do
just that.
