Hi, Dave:

Haven't you heard of ELT instead of ETL yet?

Extract-Load-Transform (ELT) means you don't have to purchase additional expensive special-purpose tools; because you can just use the tools you already have (DB2 and SQL). You extract using SQL, loading the results into new (data mart) tables, then you use standard SQL to do any needed "transformations."

Gang,
Any of you have recommendations on ETL-type tools for constant one-way update of data between two i5 LPARs. I'm trying to keep many tables updated in our data warehouse LPAR from the Production LPAR. Initially, there won't be any Translation/Transformation (The "T" in ETL) but later on a possibility. Programs like MIMIX won't work because when I purge data from the Production side, they delete the same data from the target.
I know about IBM's Federated Server and their new acquisition of DataMirror. I also know of a product from Information Builders. Any others? Have you all used any of these? Cost?
OR
Do you have any code you can share that does the same job?
Thanks in advance,
