I like to permanently apply all my PTFs about 1 or 2 weeks prior to
installing the next Cumulative CD. Then I know that everything that had
been working on B, is now on A. Then if I have a problem after installing
the new Cumulative CD, I can just IPL from the A side and resolve the issue
(hopefully).

Ok, I think Justin's point here is that you shouldn't apply all your ptf's
Permanent immediately. Perhaps a 30-60 day wait. Maybe even an IPL in
between just to see if the PTF only hoses you during IPL. Actually, we
only apply our ptf's permanently immediately before an OS upgrade. Failure
to apply ptf's permanently before an OS upgrade will leave those save
files out there for all time.
