Short version: I'm past where I was Friday, and I think I may actually be
loading the OS now.
I loaded the LIC, and I'm now getting RAID set up. I perhaps should have
loaded the OS first and then applied RAID, but that's hindsight. I could
have mirrored the OS and then put the other four disks into a RAID set, but
I didn't feel like it. I thought one big RAID 5 set would suit my purposes
fine.
More important, though, is the fact that I can't get the system to recognize
the sixth drive. The machine was shipped with 5 8.5GB drives. Either the
system or the controller won't even look at the sixth drive.
