As I understand it, partitioning is implemented on the multi-system
support. That is, the DB2 multi-system had implemented key partitioning
support already [across systems versus on the same system]. So adding
partition support primarily for enabling getting around row limitations
seems acceptable to require the additional feature. I believe purchase
of that sfw feature also serves as a trigger implying a complex DB2
environment; if local partitioning in DB2 for i5/OS is positioned as,
for use in overcoming the row limit, I guess that could be considered
complex.
