We are looking at the security of our DDM connections between our systems
and are wondering how other companies implement the DDM security.
Currently most of our systems have the DDMTCPA PWDRQD parm set to *NO. We
were looking at changing that to *ENCRYPTED, but it appears that to use
that you have to have an entry in the Server Authority table (SVRAUTE) for
each profile that needs to do DDM to that system. If you have each profile
use its own user id and password, then you have to remember to change the
server authority entry each time your password changes. If you use a
generic user profile/password, then do you loose the user specific
authorization on the remote system?
Say I'm signed on as myself on systema and I want to do a ddm connection
to systemb, I have a server authority entry that says to use profile
DDMACCESS on the remote system. Do I then have what ever authority the
DDMACCESS profile has on the remote system?
What are others doing?
Thanks
