Windows can also be licensed on a per Socket (A quad core, dual core,
single core cpu all count as "1") basis, by using the Datacenter
Edition.

Just for a giggle, I did a little cluster of 10 servers. Standard
Edition
was $8K a year! Enterprise and Datacenter were nearly $25K!
I know this is a tough question and depends on a lot of things, but how
big
of a System i do you need to replace 10 Windows servers? What's the
annual
maintenance on that puppy?
