As I said, I'm stuck with green screen 5250 in that particular environment, at least for the moment. Working with only the first member of a source file is also not going to fly. So iSeries Navigator's db editor is out on both counts.

As to being a Luddite, it is true that my second most expensive possession is a First Model Long Land Tower musket (known in the vernacular as a "Brown Bess"). And I do know how to shoot it. But that is a remarkably sophisticated piece of machinery, at least for 1742.

CPYF to QDKT
Put the diskette in the 3741 and edit the member
CPYF from QDKT

(Sorry, I saw 1742 and the rest was history)

The basic tenet still holds. You can copy the member elsewhere and operate on it with another tool (PC editors are plentiful; DFU works in a pinch) and copy it back. If you have access to a second system, DDM files can be a useful connexion.

WDSCi is Windows-only, and if you have WDSC, you probably paid for SEU as well.

Is this CL you're editing? Copy member to a work file, subfile over that, QCAPCMD to validate CL, copy work file back to member.
