Larry Larry Larry ... Using QDLS is not my choice. Our vendor's software uses it. My plan is to migrate all of it into the IFS ... But I have to get past this merger first. I suspect the Directory entries didn't get migrated during conversion (Thanks to Mark Waterbury for that clue)

Thanks!

Mary Mary Mary,

Are you sure you have a directory entry for your profile? No directory
entry means no access to QDLS. But anyway you shouldn't be using QDLS
any more. It's bad, ugly, slow, and since it's an 8.3 file system
Microsoft could break access to it again (they've done it twice already)
at any moment. The third time could be the charm....

When I try to map a drive to QDLS, I am prompted for a user name and password. My user name and password on the System i are the same as my network user name and password. When I enter them into the prompt box, it comes back with the active directory prefix as in "AD/username". FYI ... I had this problem earlier and was told to change the domain name in NetServer to something that didn't really exist. I did that. It appeared to work ... at least I could map the drive and get to it.

I also made sure my NetServer profile was not disabled by doing a CHGUSRPRF. No change.

Oh and BTW, we installed a new box over the weekend. I am pretty certain this is involved. I did a RSTDLO in a restricted state and then RSTAUT afterward.

Any ideas what's going on?

Thanks!
Mary
