Just tried a slip install of lic and os - no luck.
Warned to not run RCLSTG *DBXREF at this time by a team of IBMers or I
could really screw it up.
Can I tell you a secret?

Can't do DSPPTF because the system is totally FUBAR. Like this symptom:
CRTPF MYLIB/MYFILE RCDLEN(10)
DSPPFM MYLIB/MYFILE - CPF4128 file is locked WRKOBJLCK MYLIB/MYFILE
*FILE There ain't no locks.
F6 - Member locks. There still ain't no locks.
DLTF MYLIB/MYFILE. Works ok.
DSPPTF Aborts because the ptf files are locked.
STRSST
1. Start a service tool
4. Display/Alter/Dump
1. Display/Alter storage
2. Licensed Internal Code (LIC) data
2. Machine Initialization Status Record (MISR) 1. Hexadecimal, alter
capable Then it's something on the 8010 row.
Replace the last step or two with
14. Advanced analysis
PTFSTORAGE For parameter use ALL
Will tell you if individual ptf's are applied.
Just tried a slip install of lic and os - no luck.

With all due respect for the man who, this evening, offered to host me
(replete with "adult beverages" to quote him) in Austin, in October on
my
four-city speaking tour for COMMON, the front panel is merely an
indication
of where you want to IPL from the next time. DSPPTF is what I use.
Why can't you do it?

How do I tell if I am on the A side or the B side if I cannot do a
DSPPTF?
Believe it or not I am on a conference call with 4 IBMers (ranging from
database to internals) and we can't figure it out.
