While that would work, it's not nearly as efficient as the CLRPFM would be. Also, while not an issue with Jeff, since he's using DDL to define his files, is that DDS does NOT specify Reuse Deleted Records by default. DDL files will reuse deleted records, keeping the work file from growing....

Have you tried using SQL? Simple as "DELETE FROM lib/file".
