With autostart jobs, the only way to reset them is to end the subsystem and restart.

So having the job in it's own subsystem like Paul does is a good idea.

On the other hand, you could also use a pre-start job. Which can be ended and restarted without ending
the sub system.

That's what I have set up for one of my customers. In order
to move data between their System i and a Unix box, I created
a subsystem named PushPull.
I placed the AJE's into that subsystem. It works like a
champ, and is completely segregated from the other subsystems.

Regarding the job every 15 minutes - this is an FTP get / put job.
Exactly 15 minutes is not critical.

The system backup job (and any IPL) ends and starts a
subsystem that currently has auto start entries. Rather than
using IBM's job scheduler I was thinking of putting adding new AJE.

Are there any gotcha's with auto start jobs?
