Bob,
If you are doing a FSS from, you most likely have ended the system to a
restricted state.
In this mode, the system request function will not work, nor can you start
another session at another workstation.
What you need to do is to set QSYSOPR to *BREAK mode (severity 60) before you
end your subsystems.

Hope this helps,

Bob,
Are you saving to tape?

(if your saving to SAVF, do you have enough disk?)

Is your terminal stuck in "play mode"?
(what symbols does your bottom row have on it?)

Hi Bob,

Can you get another screen to answer the msg on? Is your screen a dumb
terminal or a PC? If a PC you can start another client access
session...and
if a dumb terminal you may be able to get a totally separate session by
pressing some Alt/Esc type combination, sorry it's such a long time now
I
don't remember what!

cheers,

Clare
