One caution: printers like ACOM's have additional security features added to prevent the unauthorized production of MICR documents, i.e., checks.

Paul,

Just make sure it supports PCL5 and you can get MICR toner
cartridges for it. You can get MICR toner for most laser
printers.

That's good news. The printer just needs to be able to do
the MICR stuff.

I believe they are Xerox printers.

Any Laser printer that supports PCL5 would be a possible
alternative, unless you have more specific requirements. I have clients that have replaced Acom printers with $200 HP
Laser printers that work fine.

I have a client who is using what is labeled an ACOM 5812.
Anybody know who
OEM's them for ACOM?

Are there alternatives out there?
