Walden,

It is true that the present is mired with the names of our heritage. And
sure, when looking for people who can work on System i, we must recognize
that most of them will have AS/400 on their resume. Why can't we look for
"System i developers with AS/400 skills"??

P.S. Walden, why are you looking for an AS/400 job? They haven't sold
one of
those this century :-)

Wise guy huh? :) I know you're kidding, but seriously, if I was posting
a job and looking for an RPG programmer and I listed the job looking for
people on the i5 I just seriously limited the scope of potential
candidates. Now, you might argue that if the RPG programmer doesn't know
the machine is now called an i5 I don't want him, but the point is, when
we're marketing to the existing customer base we're somewhat forced to
call it an AS/400, not because that's what it is, but because that's
what they call it.
