We leave it locked.

There are several reasons:

Some applications will add & remove libraries at will. This way we know what
app the user is in. I have seen some applications that use this feature for
licensing.

Saves - There are times that you want to know who is in a library before you
start a save.

For a development machine, easy way to find out who is in the library when you
want to rename it.

Subject: Setting for system value QLIBLCKLVL survey

Our system value for "Library locking level" (QLIBLCKLVL) is currently
set to "1-Lock libraries in the search list". After reading about what
this controls I am thinking it should be set to "0" to not lock the
library search list. Our typical user has around 20 libraries in the
library list. Before I changed it I thought I would check to see how the
rest of the readers on the list set this value.

Thanks
