Don, are you labels "stand alone", or do they integrate with data on your
iSeries? I have used the TL Ashford software before with a variety of
printers on the iseries. I have had great success with Zebra's ( a little
pricy), Citizen and Citoh. You don't need a twinax interface, ethernet will
work just fine. If you are going to use the printer in a factory that
doesn't have cat5 wiring close by, a wireless ethernet print server attached
to a parallel port works great too.

What kind of volume are you looking at?

Subject: Intermec label printer replacement

I have an Intermec 4400 printer with the twinax feature. We print bar coded
labels from an RPG program. This printer is at "end of life" as far as a
maintenance agreement goes. The printer is failing, and I will be looking
into cost effective solutions.

All ideas welcomed!
