The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
Elvis:
Thanks for the info.
Jeff, Pete: Thanks for your help. What I need to do is access a DB *external*
to the iSeries. As far as I know, the only (open source? free?) way to do this
is using JDBC.
Thanks again,
Luis Rodriguez

Luis,
I am curious why you would use JDBC from RPG. JDBC is used to access
DB2 from a Java program, wouldn't just using SQL in your RPG programs
serve you better? If you have Java classes you need to call from RPG, I
understand that, but then the JDBC code would probably be something you
would embed in the Java classes rather than calling JDBC classes and
methods from RPG.

List,
Does anybody know of a link of document (redbook?) where I could find easy
to use examples of JDBC routines callable from RPG? My knowledge of Java is
small, particularly in the business area.
Also, Which list would be better for this endeavor? RPG400, Java, etc.?
Thanks for your help,
Luis Rodriguez
