I am using MSAccess to print some reports. The number of reports is based on
how many records are in the access table. For each access table record I
need to get information from an iseries DB. I am using ODBC and SQL but
seems to be a bit slow. Is there a faster way of performing this function.
Basically I want to chain to the iseries for each record read.

It _used_ to be that a big "bang for the buck" performance item whenever trying to use MS Access for this kind of thing was getting past the old 'Jet' engine. I can't recall if that became a thing of the past or not; it's been way too long since I've done much with Access. Perhaps an obsolete thought.

Was it "pass-through" queries or some such area to look into?

If this is really a remote access for each individual line, there's gotta be a better way to handle it. With any significant number of lines at all, this would seem to be a problem.
