I still wonder on the need. I am not saying that all RLA is bad, but is
it the right tool for accessing records by other than their primary key?
Think about that, most time you access data by other than it's primary key
you are retrieving a set, and not just an individual record. How often
would one CHAIN to an order line file (like BPCS ECL) by item number,
order number, line number? Slim to none. But one may often do a SETLL
and a READ. Applications that do a SETLL and a READ are doing SET
retrievals instead of individual record retrievals. SET's are SQL's
baliwick, eh?
