Steven,

To clarify, I will using some fonts (check amount) that are not on the
iseries. Most fonts that I wish to purchase are for windows. Im not sure if
I can use those fonts on the iseries or not.

Also, I will be using overlays that have a pre-printed check format.

I am looking to print paychecks from the iseries (520 v5r4)
to a network printer (HP4050TN)

If you don't like the System i fonts, set up a printer description using
Host Printer Transform (*HPT). This will change the EBCDIC to ASCII, and
send the data stream to the printer. You could set up a *WSCST workstation
Customization description to set the default fonts, paper source, etc.
However you'll probably give up the ability to control/restart your print
job in the middle of the print stream by doing this.

What font or feature do you like/dislike so much that you want to use
printer fonts?
